A Design a Day – Day 230 (Bleary-Eyed and Covered in Black Dust…)

Ok, I’ll confess, I’ve discovered one aspect of jewelry making that I REALLY don’t like…

Polishing

(And it’s not just because my fingernails and nostrils turn black.)

I’m a slave driver when it comes to getting a perfect finish; I just don’t seem to be able to get the perfect polish that I’m after.

Besides, spending hours glued to the bench polishing when I could be designing or creating a new piece seems like

TIME WASTED!

So, I’m now researching tumblers (not the athletic variety, or the kind used to hold expensive whiskey, but the kind used to polish rocks and jewelry.)

And since I did spend 3 hours polishing at the bench tonight, I’m resorting to posting an “oldie” for my design for today:

Do you have experience using a tumbler to polish your jewelry?

I’d welcome any recommendations or tips!
