One benefit (among many others) to my Design a Day year-long blog project, is that I’m able to get some distance and perspective from my work.  This enables me to see common threads and styles emerging.  Shown alongside a pair of previous renderings taken from the beginning of June and November, respectively, today’s design is a perfect example of both an evolution and adherence to my own design aesthetic:

If I had to describe what excites me the most in the jewelry I love, I think I would say elegance of line and mastery of finishes.  Both are elements that I strive for in the pieces I make at the bench, too.  Having had a two week enforced hiatus from my bench, I’m very much looking forward to being back at home and back at work!
