My Favorite Things – NY Fashion Week, February 2011

Fashion week is back again at the Mercedes Benz tent at Lincoln Center. Β Walk through this specially created faux stone edifice to bask in the aura of celebrity, lights and fashion…

or, if you’re like me, enjoy the comings and goings for free on the plaza!

These three ladies passed me by in the late afternoon…

As did this pair of wedge platform boots.

He was in a hurry and was taking an important call…

And she had had enough for the day.

Meanwhile, Moses was holding court…

And I caught this young gamine girl striking a pose.

It’s important to cultivate fashionable tastes from birth…

And these 3 lovelies looked as good coming as going.

Meanwhile, I wasn’t alone taking pictures…

Although I wasn’t brave enough to chat with the models.

I spied this Cyndi Lauper look-alike exiting the tent…

(here’s a close-up of her shoes)

And this very tall girl making her way in the opposite direction.

His hat and scarf matched her skirt…

And these two couldn’t have looked more mismatched!

Couldn’t resist a shot of this outfit…

Which just goes to show you that you can’t tell who’s the photographer and who’s the model!

I spied these shoes racing by (a miracle the owner could walk)…

And fortunately she stopped for a picture.

Not to be outdone, these ladies graciously posed for many photos. Welcome to Fashion Week!

    • Hi Pam,

I think I may head out tomorrow again to see who is out and about at Lincoln Center. It’s supposed to be in the 50s, so maybe some of the furs will come off!

      I hope you are well!

  1. my feet hurt just looking at the photos. Fabulous! I like the super wedges the best.

    • Hi Ma,

I couldn’t walk in those shoes either! In fact, given that it was frigidly cold the afternoon I took those photos, I was also thinking that the models must have been super cold, too. Ahh, the price of beauty!

      Love you!

    • Ola Pedro –

I think you would have loved seeing the activity around Fashion Week. It happens 2 times per year, so maybe when you come to NY you can keep that in mind. But, there really is no end of fun things to “shoot” here. I’ve been thinking that I should do a series of photos about the odd ways people dress up their dogs here. I’ve seen everything from hand-knit sweaters and booties, to glittery fur collars!

Tenho de ir estudar (viola) agora. Hoje vou tocar com o ballet no espataculo de Swan Lake.

      Ate logo –
