My Favorite Things – Saratoga Springs, NY

You don’t have to go too far outside of NY City to find yourself among the quaint villages and towns of New England.  I’m fortunate to be playing this summer with the New York City Ballet Orchestra in the ballet’s summer home at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (also home to the Philadelphia Orchestra during the summer.)

The town of Saratoga Springs is known for it’s curative mineral springs, but if drinking sulfuric water isn’t your thing, you can always browse the boutiques and shops, take in a gourmet meal, or head off to the Saratoga Race Track to cheer for your favorite pony.  Those horses are real, but if you can’t make a race, you can always pick a favorite from one of the many statues around town…

    • Hi Ma,

I WAS going to go into Mrs. London’s to take pictures of the desserts, but I looked like a bum that day (running shorts and T-shirt) and decided to spare them a visit. BUT, I’m looking forward to going with you and Pa next week!

      Love,
      Joana
