Josephine Bikes Around Town – From Concept to Ink-and-Watercolor Illustration

Now that I’m back at home and have access to my drawing board and art supplies, I sat down today to do some serious work.  The progression of sketches turned out to be interesting (and certainly not all that serious!), so I’m posting them here for all to see.  My favorite versions are 2 and 4; while the “final” version sets a scene, it’s not quite right for various reasons.

What do you think?  I’d love to know!

I like 2 and 4 best also – I think it’s the multicolored flowers in the basket.

I’m afraid our heat wave has made its way east – my relief is your pain. Stay cool.

    • Hi Nina,

I think you’re right in your choice of favorites. I’m off to post two more drawings…still on the quest to really find my “style” I guess.

In the meantime, we just got a torrential rain storm. I had just set out for my evening walk and got drenched, but it was refreshing all the same.

      🙂 Joana
