My Favorite Things – A Visit to Eataly, NY (Mangia! Mangia!)

Last week, on a grey rainy Wednesday, my husband and I ventured down to 5th Ave at 23rd St. for a visit to the Italian market, Eataly.

Having never been here before, we weren’t sure what to expect…

So the explosion of colors, smells, sights and mouth-watering goods was truly mind-blowing.  We contemplated purchasing the fresh fish…

Before our heads started to spin, and we didn’t know where to look anymore!

Eataly boasts “We sell what we cook & we cook what we sell.”  Come here to shop or to eat…just beware that everyone else is here to do the same!  We finally found a free spot to sit and eat at a counter where we watched chefs scurrying around preparing pasta entrees…

While our pizza cooked in the oven nearby.

The pizza was delicious, and we chased it down with imported Italian beer.

Naturally, we had room for dessert, and went to investigate the options…

I wanted one of each, but my husband insisted we share the pistachio Gelato instead.

Now at home, I’m drooling over these pictures as I write this post.  Buon appetito!

    • Hi Ma,

I KNEW you’d like my Eataly post. I wandered around Eataly saying “My mom would LOVE this!” You can add it to the mile-long list of things we’ll do on your next trip.

      Love,
      J

    • We were, too! Can’t wait to see what things they’ll bring in for the holidays…I’m sure that will merit another post!

Hope you are doing well! 🙂
      Joana
