Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.

I would rather put up with them than walk a mile in those shoes!
The fashion icon Daphne Guinness wears lots of heel-less shoes – many of them by Steve McQueen. She claims that they are really comfortable. I wouldn’t know because I don’t dare walk into those Madison Ave. boutiques and ask to try them on.
Take a look at the pictures of Daphne Guinness here:

I actually saw an interesting exhibit of her clothes and shoes (well, only a small portion of her vast collection) at the Fashion Institute of Technology recently. Not that I would ever dress that way, but it was inspiring all the same.

This depends on the person’s taste in shoes. If they’re wearing a pair of Manolos, I say criticize the heck out of ’em once you’ve walked a mile in their shoes!
Hi Marta,
Have you ever worn a pair of Manolos? I saw some “on sale” at Century 21, but even so, at $300 they were out of my price range. Someday, though, I’ll try on a pair just to see what they feel like.
Love,
J
