Outstanding (Version 3) – Whimsical Illustration by Joana Miranda

Last week I posted two versions of an illustration I was working on.  I finished a 3rd version tonight and have posted all three versions here so that my readers can compare.  I’m partial to the final because I think it’s the most free and natural looking.  I also think the shadow is the most believable.  Any opinions?  I’d love to hear from you!

  1. I like version 2, just because I like her expression the best. I didn’t even notice the shadow so much! I would love to read what other people think!

    • Hi Helen,

I know what you mean about the expression in Version 2. Somehow, Josephine didn’t look so exuberant in the final version (even though I wanted her to!)

So far you’re the only one who has weighed in. Hopefully, I’ll get some other feedback soon, though.

      Ciao – Joana

      • Hi Helen,

My friend Tom said that all three are too much the same, but he liked the shadow in #3 the best. I suppose I still need to break out of my artistic strait jacket and do something really daring….

        😉 Joana

  2. Hi Joana, I prefer the second version. In the third one the face shadows are a bit too dark for me. Great work! I love Josephine!
