Copenhagen Day 2 – Smørrebrød with a Side of Fried Computer

Yes, it’s true.  I’m currently enjoying a visit to Denmark and the beautiful city of Copenhagen.  I wish I could say all has been smooth sailing.  The weather has certainly been sublime, and I love the sense of calm here.  However, I discovered yesterday afternoon that I either fried my computer, or the motherboard just coincidentally died.  A black screen is all that faces me (this update is being done on the hotel lobby computer) and though I’ve already taken many wonderful pictures, I’m unable to upload them to my computer, or to my blog.

Hopefully, all will be set right soon…however, not before I return State-side.  In the meantime, I’m off to find a sunny cafe for coffee and a danish.  I guess life isn’t so bad after all!

Hi Joana! Isn’t it funny that “Danish” are actually an American creation?
So sorry to hear about your Mother^&*%$# computer!!

    • Hi Betsy,

Thanks so much for writing to me on my blog! It is a bummer about the computer, but at least I have plenty of distractions to keep myself entertained. I’m loving Copenhagen. It’s been cold, but the sun does really warm things up. Last night was opening night and the company looked great. The orchestra (Royal Danish Opera/Ballet orchestra) did a really nice job, too. I’m headed back over to the hall this afternoon via water taxi since I want to watch the dress rehearsal for one of the ballets I’ve never seen.

I hope all is well with you and I look forward to seeing you again soon!
      🙂 Joana

  2. Well, what a lovely place to visit, what’s the occasion?

    • Hi Helen,

I’m here with NYCB, although on this trip I’m just “the wife.” Andy conducts one of the programs (4 shows) and one of the other conductor does the other program (3 shows.) Tonight, apparently, the Queen will be in attendance. Guess Andy will have to practice his bow…

Hope you are doing well! I haven’t had a chance to do anything on Facebook since my computer crashed and I’m relegated to doing my computing on the hotel lobby computer. Hopefully, that issue will be resolved soon.

      🙂 Joana
