A Wardrobe That Even Carrie Bradshaw Would Envy…Whimsical Fashionista Illustration by Joana Miranda

A few days ago, I posted a preliminary pencil sketch and a partially rendered version of the illustration I was working on.  The partially rendered version gave me some perspective on the composition and I decided to go back to the drawing board to rework it.  (For those of you who missed that post, I’ve posted the preliminary pencil sketch again below:)

Getting dressed sketch

Now see if you can spot the differences (hint…this fashionista may be slightly off balance in her Manolos, but her style choices are spot on!)

  1. Well, the main thing is the chair, right? It’s too small in the first picture.

    • Hi Helen,

Yes, the chair was too small in the first version. I also relocated the other pair of shoes (and enlarged them). But, more importantly, I redid Josephine’s head placement/angle and the placement of her legs since they looked too static and not quite right in the first version.

I had a lot of fun doing the illustration from sketch through revisions to final version, and I sold a print of it immediately on Etsy. Yay!

It’s quite hot and HUMID here. Ick. I hope you are having better weather in Milwaukee.

      🙂 Joana
