My Favorite Things – The Loves and Locks of the Brooklyn Bridge

Somewhere high above the East River, messages of love have gotten locked down.  Just when did it start?

According to this news report, love-struck lovers following a trend initiated in Italy began “locking down their love” (and throwing the key into the river) on the Brooklyn Bridge back in 2010.

Locks are periodically cut off…as are, undoubtedly, some of the relationships!

Some locks are sentimentally engraved…

While others impart a more Goth vibe.

The visitors come from near and far.

Some wax poetic…

While others are more pragmatic.

(In the absence of love, food.)

Want to express your love?  There’s still room…
