The Artist as Model – New Preliminary Thank You Card Sketch from Joana Miranda Studio

I’ve been busy at work on a new thank you card for my shop.  Although I love the “humble thanks” card I created two years ago, my goal is to create a collection of thank you cards all featuring Josephine in different poses.

Coming up with “thankful” poses isn’t as easy as you’d think, though.  I’ve had to resort to experimenting with lots of self-timed portraits with my Panasonic Lumix camera.

So far, these poses are the most promising:

sincere thanks

presenting a flower

And, as you can see, the 2nd pose has become the basis for my latest sketch:

Applause, applause…

(thank you!)

  1. Great great post. You certainly make a lovely and inspiring model and your drawing is lovely. Looks like you got a new hair style and I like it.

    • Hi Andrea,

Thanks, my dear! Yes, I did get my hair all “chopped” off in March and am loving it. The only draw back is that I have to get my hair cut much more frequently to maintain the pixie style; on the other hand, styling it is very easy. 🙂

I finished the colored version of my drawing and will be posting it soon. I hope you and Dennis are doing well!
