Earlier this evening I walked across the park to the Conservatory Gardens.
The light was clean and clear and the air was cool. The gardens are just beginning to bloom, and the annual plantings are little more than promising rows of green shoots. Even so, there were enough miniature wild flowers, blooming bushes and blossoming trees to keep me and my camera occupied.
This is what I saw:
Oh, the very beginning of beginnings. How beautiful, such promise of spring that we need so much. Lovely, Mm
Hi Meh-meh,
I have a handy dandy little “what’s blooming when” chart for Central Park and I think you’ll be in time to see some lovely things when you’re here. And maybe I’ll even have things blooming on the balcony, too!
I lurve you, J

Love the photos! They’re so beautiful! You are so good at everything you do! 🙂
Spring finally arrived in Baku too. I also took a walk today in the park nearby. There were so many white and colorful tulips and the smell of freshly cut grass was amazing! 🙂
Have a beautiful day!
Much love,
Natella
Hi Natella,
Thanks so much for the comment! The tulips are not yet blooming here, so it sounds like you’re a little ahead of us in Baku. This is really my favorite time of year…seems like every day brings a fresh new surprise outside.
I hope you have lots of opportunities to be outside enjoying gorgeous weather!
A big hug, Joana

Oh, the hellebores! I wish we could grow them easier around here; they never seem to quite work out.
Hi Helen,
I thought of you as I was labeling the flowers (although I chose not to show the captions since I was pretty sure I’d mislabel a bunch of things.) Which are the hellebores? Are they also called Lenten Roses?
The tulips in the 3rd garden of the Conservatory Gardens are poking out of the ground but I think they won’t bloom for another week or so. But I’ll be sure to go back with my camera when they do bloom.:-)

You’re a wonderful photographer! I especially love the one with the fuzzy looking green things – the foreground/background in that photo is lovely. Thank you for taking me (and many others) into the Conservatory Gardens today! 🙂 Love you!

Hi Jemeenie,
Thanks so much for the lovely comment! If I was shooting with a film camera I think I’d be a lot less good photographer! Shooting digitally really does allow you to experiment lots – and I delete a lot of shots, too.
I loved talking to you the other day…and if I could, I’d come and help you organize your house. (But then you’d probably want to throw me out, too;-)
Looking forward to talking to you again sometime soon.
Love, Jemoona
