After a few long days of rehearsing and performing at the Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center, I welcomed an afternoon of free time to meander through the city. Spring is officially here. The trees are flowering and even the tulips have started blooming. From the ground up the earth seems to be coming back to life.
Near my apartment, a squirrel was making a meal out of some crocuses…
While high up above, the avenues were lined with blossom-covered trees.
Just across from Lincoln Center a little violinist was taking advantage of the warm weather to serenade passersby with an impromptu concert.
(Note the incredible violin and bow hold! This little boy may very well be playing AT Lincoln Center soon…)
On the southeast corner of Central park, the fountain was also surrounded with blossoms…
And the blue hydrangeas at the Park Plaza Hotel provided a pretty pop of color.
As I made my way back uptown through the park I stopped to photograph more cherry trees…
And a pair of boaters on the Lake.
Ah, how I love spring!
