From My Sketchbook, Paris Style

On my long walks around the city of Paris this past week, my sketchbook has always been in hand.

I’ve sat in parks, like the Jardin du Luxembourg, amid pots of flowers…

Pots of flowers at the Jardin de Luxembourg

And studied the interactions of the people around me.

Every once in a while, I’m happy with the resulting sketch.

I’ve also sat in cafes…

And between bites of decadent tarts

Have sketched the people peering in.

  1. Bravia, wonderful sketches! Hope you’re having a great time.

    • Hi Helen,

Thanks! I am having a wonderful time, although I have to think carefully about my plan “du jour” since this is my last day here. 😦

The flip side of being sad about leaving is that our NY apartment is going to feel like a palace (our hotel room here is rather small…)

Oh I am impressed! Did you really eat that amazing creation? Sketches are great! Adorable lil man e big feet… Je t’aime Cherie!

    • Hi Mm,

Yes, that dessert WAS good…not too sweet and the little flakes of grated lime peel were bursting with flavor. The silver leaf didn’t have any flavor, but it sure looked nice;-)

I lurve you, birthday girl! J

  3. Joana… Isn’t Paris wonderful?… So glad you enjoyed your stay❣… I know what you mean about the size rooms❣❣❣… Like I had told my cousin who really cares?… I wanted to go so badly that it did not mean a thing to me… As long as the room is clean and you can shower, that’s all that matters❣… Safe flight home, until next time…. 😊. • Hi Denise,

Most hotel room closets are small, but the one we had in Paris was miniscule (especially since my husband and I were both sharing it.) But I’ve learned to travel light over the years, and I really do try to live by the 10-item capsule wardrobe “rule.” In a climate with winters like NYC, I have more like a 10-item capsule for each season (fall/winter and spring/summer), and another for my concert clothes. That said, I’ve really kept my wardrobe pretty much pared down to only the things I wear. Now if only I could get my husband to do the same…;-)

      Have a great weekend! Joana
