Friday’s Thought – All in the Details

Wow…. How cool is that!… Art Deco was the thing I believe very popular starting in the 1930’s… The Radio City Music Hall is a real landmark!… So nostalgic! Great pic Joana!

    • Hi Denise,

I hope your week is off to a great start! I am a big fan of Art Deco and love that NY City has so many fine examples. Actually, I ended up spending A LOT of time at Radio City Music Hall last week since I played for the Tony Bennett 90th birthday concert and TV taping. We were literally at Radio City from 9 a.m. ’til 10 p.m. two days in a row. Of course, much of that time was spent sitting and waiting around, but the perks of the gig were lots of celebrity sightings…Tony Bennett, Kevin Spacey, Alec Baldwin, Lady Gaga, K.D. Lang, Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble, and Diana Krall, to name just a few! The concert will be broadcast on NBC on December 20th.

  2. Wow!!! How fun is that!!!!… Tony Bennett gets better with age!!!.. What a great experience for you… So glad you told me when it will aire, because I will for sure be watching it! I know it will be a fab show! Thanks, Denise

    • Hi Denise,

I saw a snippet of the show (from a cellphone video post on Instagram) and it made me wonder if I’ll be visible at all in the TV airing. In the snippet the lights were incredibly dim since there was a projected image on the video screen at the back of the stage. Those of us high up in the top row (a few violins, all of the violas, and the horns) were pretty much in the dark. Hopefully, it won’t all be that way…I want my 5 minutes of fame. Hah! Maybe if I had worn a see-through dress like Lady Gaga that might have helped…;-)

      Ciao – Joana
