From My Sketchbook and Breaking News

It was a slow week for “plein air” sketching, so I humbly offer up this sole sketch from my subway travels…

However, the good news is that my bottom was planted firmly in front of my drafting table where I’ve been busy at work for a while now on the 2017 Joana Miranda Studio Calendar!  This brand-new calendar will feature 12 never-before-published Joana Miranda Studio cartoons and gags.

As you can see, I’m pretty excited, and I hope you’ll stay tuned for more news!

(P.S.  I expect the calendar to be published and available for purchase by the end of November/early December. )

  1. Not bad for a subway sketch! Looking forward to seeing what’s coming from the drafting table.

    • Thanks, Helen! I’m burning the midnight oil at the drafting table, or so it feels. Part of the crunch – besides that calendars aren’t purchased after the New Year! – is that Nuts start soon. I’m hired for all of them and will be playing most of them (43 out of 49), so there won’t be a whole lot of free time. This week is lighter though (5 Wicked shows), so I’ve got some good drawing time.:-)

I hope you are well! xox – Joana
