From My Sketchbook – Rhymes and Doodles

When the cold sets in it’s best to keep bundled,

So your bones keep warm and not disgruntled.

It’s a glamorous look that’s really quite easy,

With the added perk that you won’t get sneezy.

More anxious was this frequent flier.

When he spilled his full cup of water,

My laptop became his new blotter.

The weather’s gone from hot to cold,

It’s La Niña’s work I’m told.

There once was a cat named Fritz,

Who liked to dream of living at the Ritz.

He slept all day and night,

Which gave his owner such a fright,

Those eyes have seen a thing or two,

Though the thoughts stay hidden from view.

We humans are more alike than not,

Compassion is really all we’ve got.

He’s sporting a goatee.

The birthmark’s quite well placed,

And his brows nicely spaced.

Peace and quiet is a grapple,

When you live in the Big Apple.

So bring a book when you’re en route,

And you’ll enjoy more your commute.
