An Illustration in Process (Step 2)

This past week I was caught up in a whirlwind of work – this time music related. Six performances (4 different programs), 2 rehearsals, and 3 students later, I’m ready to see the work week end!  But before I curl up on the couch with my husband, a movie, and some chewy candy, I’m posting the newly outlined (and fleshed out) version of the sketch I posted on Monday.  The next step will be the coloring…a step I’ve really come to look forward to ever since I got my new Copic Sketch markers.

Caution to the Wind

I’m still mulling over the greeting.  But perhaps that will work itself out after I’ve had a little more sleep!  Stay tuned…

Splurge! A Whimsical Illustration Featuring My New Copic Sketch Markers

My new Copic Sketch markers arrived in the mail yesterday and I’ve been having a blast “playing” with them.  Along with the 3 sets I ordered (6 pens in each set), I also got a set of Stabilo fine line markers.  It’s like Christmas all over again!  Of course, it would be nice to have a computer that worked (maybe Tuesday?), but my husband has been graciously letting me borrow his for the time being.

The Learning Curve – An Illustration Gone Awry

Ok, so this isn’t my best illustration.  The proportions of Josephine’s head to body aren’t right, and her eyes and mouth got too big.  Besides, I was going for a more playful expression than the one I ended up with.  But I’m humbly posting my illustration anyway.  For me it’s a reminder that…

“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.”
