My New Year’s resolutions over the past years have become quite streamlined. They are, namely, to drink more water, and to try and live more in the moment. My success with keeping to both of these resolutions is debatable – my husband compared me to a hamster last week (it WAS a more hectic week than usual!), and I keep having to put New Skin on the little cuts that open up on my hands due to dry skin. Therefore, I’ll probably end up renewing the same resolutions for the coming year.
Oh, and I also plan to laugh as much as possible. You?
P.S. By the way, the 2017 Joana Miranda Studio Cartoon Calendar is still available for sale in my shop at Etsy. (If you order before December 20th, you can still get the calendar in time for Christmas.)

“It is the season now to go about the country high and low, among the lilacs hand in hand, and two by two in fairyland.”

“Expect nothing. Live frugally on surprise.”
Earlier this week, my husband and I walked over to Central Park’s Conservatory Garden to check out what was in bloom.
The day was nearing its close, so the light was soft and the air was calm and cool. The only think missing from the following slide show of seven pictures is the lovely aromas of the flowers. Smell-o-vision is still a ways off, I guess…
I’ve been M.I.A. this week from my computer and my blog. Somehow sitting indoors staring at a computer screen just doesn’t feel right…
When you can be picking blueberries in your mother’s backyard garden…
Walking through sunlit forest paths…
Admiring the day-lilies…
And listening to the breeze blowing through the trees.
With nothing better to do than contemplate my navel on the dock…
(And watch a sunset or two…)
I guess you could say that I’ve been kidnapped by the natural beauty of my surroundings in Canaan, New Hampshire!
“Nature goes her own way, and all that to us seems an exception is really according to order.”
