Friday’s Thought – Ain’t That The Truth

Last week the strawberry moon rose over D.C. while I was in town performing with the New York City Ballet.  The bad news is that our performance that night got out a bit too late for me to see the moon rising on the horizon.  Even worse, the next night when we DID get out earlier I didn’t have my camera with me – you’ll just have to believe me when I tell you the moon that night WAS a fabulous salmon shade and looked ginormous!)

So that you can see I tried, here I am trying to capture the strawberry moon…

And here it is framed by the leaves of a tree.

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”

My Favorite Things – The 2016 Holiday Windows at Bergdorf Goodman and Van Cleef and Arpels

I look forward to seeing the holiday window displays at Bergdorf Goodman’s every year.  In fact, this year I went twice since my first visit was in the late afternoon when there was still too much sunlight bouncing off the windows to get really good photographs.  The theme this year is Destination Extraordinary, and I think you’ll agree that the colors and attention to intricate details ARE extraordinary!

Next door at the Van Cleef and Arpels windows, monkeys toss diamond and jade baubles around like they were peanuts.  If only they could toss one my way…
