Monday Madness from Joana Miranda Studio - 'Cause there's nothing better than starting off the week with a laugh!
I've been itching to get back to drawing, but life (and lots of rehearsals, shows and concerts) has been intervening. Tonight, on intermission between the two ballets I was playing, I went up to my husband's office and sketched. Here's what emerged...
In this preliminary sketch, Josephine is shown cheerfully sitting on a suitcase with her little dog Andre keeping company at her side.
Josephine is party ingenue, part old soul, and ALL city girl. She loves a good bargain, and will spend hours searching for one if she has to.
Here are two versions of my Josephine illustrations. While the pose is the same, Josephine is wearing different colors and is situated in two different environments. I'm not sure which I prefer, and I'd love to hear feedback from my readers!
Josephine is part ingenue, part old soul. She's got style even when she's in the kitchen and she's cooked up this illustration to prove it!
Josephine is part ingenue, part old soul. She lives her days cheerfully seeking out adventure in New York City!
Josephine is smart. She somehow manages to balance her interest in music, art, biographies and literature with her passion for staying current with fashion. Oh, and she has great posture, too!
